RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Monterey County Water Resources Agency Board of Directors:

Approve an amendment to a Professional Services Agreement with Wood Environmental & Infrastructure, Inc., for the performance of hydrologic and hydrogeologic modeling necessary to develop and evaluate operational components of the Agency's Interlake Tunnel and San Antonio Spillway Modification Project; and authorize the Interim General Manager to execute the amended Agreement.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
In order to perform a comprehensive evaluation of the potential benefits of an interlake tunnel between Nacimiento and San Antonio Reservoirs, as well as modifications to the San Antonio spillway, the Monterey County Water Resources Agency (Agency) entered into a Professional Services Agreement with Wood Environmental & Infrastructure, Inc. (Wood Inc.) to utilize an operational version of the County of Monterey's recently completed historical Salinas Valley Integrated Hydrologic Model (SVIHM). The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), under a separate Joint Funding Agreement with the Agency, was tasked to develop the operational version of the SVIHM. Because of an extended government shutdown, the USGS was delayed in the completion of the operational SVIHM. Although a significant amount of work had been completed by the USGS prior to the shutdown, to continue moving the project forward, Wood Inc. was asked to continue the configuration of the model.
