Title: a. Approve and authorize the Director of the Information Technology Department, or his designee, to execute a non-standard agreement with the Corporation for Educational Network Initiatives in California (CENIC) to house CENIC network equipment within County facilities, and to reimburse the County for costs incurred, for the term of July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2024; b. RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director of the Information Technology Department, or his designee, to execute a non-standard agreement with the Corporation for Educational Network Initiatives in California (CENIC) to house CENIC network equipment within County facilities, and to reimburse the County for costs incurred, for the term of July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2024;
b. Approve non-standard agreement terms as recommended by the Director of the Information Technology Department; and
c. Approve and authorize the Director of the Information Technology Department to execute up to three (3) renewals of the CENIC agreement, of five (5) years each, subject to County Counsel review and provided the terms of the agreement remain substantially the same.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
On June 18, 2003, the Board of Supervisors authorized an Institutional Network (INET) Agreement with Comcast of California, Incorporated. The agreement implemented provisions of the 1998 negotiated cable television franchise transferred to Comcast for its supply of fiber-optic cables for government, public library, and educational data, voice, and video telecommunication purposes. ...
