Report
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors approve the Bingo Permit Application for the American Legion Post 593 pursuant to Chapter 7.08 of the Monterey County Code effective September 29, 2020 through September 28, 2021, conditioned upon the permite following all applicable state and local regulations and guidance for this activity during the COVID-19 pandemic until Governor Newsom's proclamation emergency is terminated.

SUMMARY:
On Friday, August 28, 2020 the American Legion Post 593 submitted a Bingo Permit application to the Clerk of the Board with the requisite $50.00 application fee. The Clerk of the Board transmitted a memo along with a copy of the application to the Monterey County Sheriff's Office on Monday, August 31, 2020 for a ten-day review, pursuant to Chapter 7.08 of the Monterey County Code.

The Sheriff's office has reviewed the materials and provided a written response to the Clerk of the Board with no objections to the issuance of the bingo permit.

Pursuant to Chapter 7.08 of the Monterey County Code, the Monterey County Board of Supervisors is the responsible body for the issuance of Bingo Permits. Upon approval by the Board of Supervisors, the Clerk of the Board will issue the applicant the Bingo Permit effective September 29, 2020 through September 28, 2021., a draft of which is attached to this board report and will notify the Sheriff's Department of the final board action pertaining to this application. The permit is condition upon following all applicable state and local regulations and guidance for this type of activity until the termination of Governor Newsom's proclamation of emergency related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
