RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors approve and authorize the Contracts/Purchasing Officer or his designee to execute Amendment No. 1 to the County Standard Services Agreement with McCune Audio Video Lighting to provide public address system and circuit worker communications for the track and paddock at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, for a revised term of October 15, 2020 through October 22, 2021, increasing the amount from $60,000 to not to exceed $179,000.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
This request supports the use of McCune Audio Video Lighting for the public address system and circuit worker communications during events and activities at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca (WRLS). McCune shall provide all necessary communications systems for Race Control to fully communicate with circuit workers to report incidents, flagging instructions, etc.
The system being provided for County use is proprietary, custom-designed and custom-built for WRLS. McCune will ensure the system covers at least 90% of the Paddock area for race commentary, public announcements and national anthems.
This amendment extends the term of the original agreement an additional six (6) months to cover the entire 2021 season and increases the total not to exceed value of the agreement to $179,000.
If the amendment is approved, A&D Narigi has been advised by County to seek competitive bids once this contract expires.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The Office of County Counsel has reviewed and approved the Amendment as to form.
