RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Receive the notice of adjustment of the annual salary of the members of the Board of Supervisors, in accordance with Section 2.04.370C of the County of Monterey Code consistent with the superior court judge salary adjustments of 0.5562% retroactive to July 1, 2021. The salary adjustments will be implemented January 29, 2022 retroactive to July 1, 2021.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Section 2.04.370C of the County of Monterey Code mandates that salary of the members of the Board of Supervisors be adjusted by the same percentage rate applicable to the office of superior court judge. On November 16, 2021, the Human Resources Department brought forward a Notice of Adjustment of the Annual Salary of the Members of the Board of Supervisors for FY 2021-22 which outlined salary increases that were calculated at that time consistent with the superior court judge salary adjustments of 4.3% retroactive to July 1, 2021. The Human Resources Department has subsequently received the attached December 6, 2021 memorandum from the Judicial Council of California and Exempt Pay Letter from the California Department of Human Resources (CALHR), detailing additional salary increases provided to superior court judges for FY 2021-22 due difference between the previously provided 4.30% and the newly calculated 4.8562%, which is an adjustment of 0.5562%.
