RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director or Assistant Director of the Department of Social Services to sign Amendment #1 to the agreement with ACTION Council of Monterey County, adding $836,025 for a revised contract total of $1,672,050, to provide administration, leadership, and coordination for Differential Response, also known as Pathways to Safety and extending the term to June 30, 2023; and

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
This amendment continues the Monterey County Differential Response program, currently known as Pathways to Safety(P2S), for an additional year. Nationally, Differential Response is a strategic way of responding to the reports of abuse and neglect received by Monterey County Family and Children's Services (FCS). The goal is to improve family and child well-being supporting a community's ability to keep children safe.
